I’m so confused about why her preshot numbers have been so much higher since increasing her dose. I’m guessing these are bounces?
I’m doing the PS meal, +1, +2 snack trying to slow down her onset since she drops fast at those beginning hours.
Am I giving her too much insulin? Do I have to just wait this out?
The 179 is so so frustrating because she hasn’t had that number in a while.
Thank you so much

She is just bouncing. I know it sucks to see higher preshots but it's just her body's response to seeing numbers lower than it's used to. Hopefully the snack at +1 will reduce the diving at onset, which in turn could help with the bouncing.

You aren't giving too much insulin. You are getting enough tests to see how low each dose is taking her.

Ok. I think I just need the reassurance lol. Do you think it’s the bounce from the +2 area or do you think she goes lower at night when I’m sleeping? She’s acting totally fine. Thank you for all your help by the way. If it wasn’t for this forum I’d have no one. My vet is very nice but not too knowledgeable about feline diabetes I think.

I think it's the dive from PS to +2 that might be contributing to the bouncing. I don't think she is going much lower later at night.
Btw, in the SS is says "114 at 4.5" in the +7 cell. Is that supposed to be in the +4 cell or is that +7.5 and not +4.5? :-)

You are most welcome! Happy to help. I too have relied entirely on this forum for help with Bandit's diabetes. It's mindboggling how few vets know anything about FD!

Fixed it lol. That was 4:30 in the morning and I was half asleep lol.
How long do these bounce’s usually last before they get under control? I know it’s difficult for every cat but is there maybe an estimate.

Her bounces are just to the 100’s whereas most newly diagnosed hit pink or at least yellow. The preshots are often the last to come down.
