Hello! We haven't been here for a while purely due to me being tired and working and busy.

Ming is on 6 units and it's going ok. Still bouncing like usual.

I made raw food for him on Tuesday and he's been slowly eating it. Seems to like it and now today, seems to not really love it. I'm not sure. Only time will tell what's going on with him. I still feed him FF and offered it to him today at PMPS and he only ate a few bites. I wonder if the homemade raw food is more filling than the FF and that's why he SEEMS like he's not eating much but is actually eating enough. - shrug -

I was thinking of increasing soon but then he gave me a 97 at PMPS.

By volume, raw has more calories. Neko would eat 125g of raw per day but the equivalent in canned is 156 grams.

Nice PMPS. :D

+2 = 58

It’s too early to be in the 50s so I gave some HC.

Ah I see. Time to do some more math!

His daily food amount for his weight (~8.5 kg or 18 lbs) should be 250g which is 3% of his body weight. He does need to lose weight lol. I’d prefer he be at 16 lbs which is the weight he was when he started Lantus in October 2018. Granted, I didn’t limit his food intake on FF and I didn’t plan to limit it on raw but I’m definitely counting how much he eats for now to make sure he eats enough (or too much).

It's easier to calculate by calories. I fed 125 g raw, cause that's what the manufactured packages came in (well, that or 250 and I split it with the civvie). Calories, depending on type of protein, varied from 180 to 220 calories in that 125 g. 200 or so calories per day was about right. That kept a couple 13/14 lb cats stable in weight. 250 g of raw seems like a lot!

Slow down Ming!

Hm, I'll need to figure out how to find out the caloric count of the meats I'm using.

A few websites recommended 170g of raw for a 16 lb cat and that seems much more reasonable. I've got lots of research and math still to do. The recipe I used to make the raw doesn't include vitamins but instead uses eggs and sardines to make up for those vitamins -- something I'm still researching about but feel confident it's okay. The reason why I'm making my own raw is because Ming seems to like chunks of meat as opposed to ground up raw which is what most commercial raw is. Plus I'm hoping homemade raw is more cost efficient but that again, will depend on how much he eats and where I get the meat. Right now, I'm just experimenting and it's going nicely. He eats the homemade raw with much better consistency than with commercial raw. It takes a lot of convincing to get him to eat commercial raw.

+3 = 112

He's up again due to HC and I hope that helps smooth things out for the rest of the cycle. I just made some coffee so I'M READY FOR A PJ PARTY, MING! *glares at him*
