Good afternoon,

we had an all red night after the furshot and also today pink seems to be the best we can reach. I hope the next cycles she goes further down.

Binie has some diarrhea today, seems to be the first side-effect of the antibiotics. I started to give probiotics again, gave healing earth and will start to give her psyllium husks later.

I measured ketones this morning and I am so glad, that even though she didn't get insulin last night, they are with 0.3 mmol/dl still in her normal range. So no additional worry. She is also eating well. Unfortunately she is still hiding. Not all the time but now and then she is leaving her cat bed and goes to some strange corner, sometimes even under the radiator.

I almost don't see her licking the wound anymore. Maybe that problem is finally solved.

I try not to overthink how the last weeks have been. After the first urine test weeks ago, which said "mixed flora" I should have insisted on getting into it further. Instead I said yes to giving her a random antibiotic by "try and error" even though I was not convinced. I think my vet would not have suggested another test if I wouldn't have asked. I think Binie was not treated properly. On the other side, I don't feel that switching vets now would help. So it seems the only thing I can do now, is to be extra alert and question everything.

I hope everyone is having a calm and relaxed sunday! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike,
I’m glad to hear no ketones and Binie was eating today.
Hopefully the probiotic and other measures will help with the diarrhea. Paws crossed for her gut to feel better.
It’s good she’s not still licking the wound. That’s promising that maybe you’re done with that issue.
I hope she will feel better from the antibiotics. Hoping that makes a difference in her overall wellbeing.
Poor baby must feel you’ve if she’s hiding in corners :(
I hope she will perk up soon.

You’re doing a wonderful job caring for her. And now you are questioning everything with your vet. And make sure you post for help here with any questions you have.
There are so many experienced people who may have a suggestion for you. We all want to help you and Binie to feel better.
Sending you both hugs and good wishes for a restful sleep tonight :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
