8/30 KARAMELLE AMPS 148 +1 221 +2 148 +4 79 +5 106 +7 124 +9 176 PMPS 341 +2 365

Depending on what you fed at preshot, and how carb sensitive Karamelle is, +1 is showing you the food bump. +2 is even with preshot, so that could either mean she’s going to go nice and easy downward to nadir, or she may take the express lane ;)

Thanks. Yes, Karamelle is food sensitive in general. I feed freeze dried raw and some Weruva pate. Both low carbs. She ate a small amount at AMPS. She has Pancreatitis now so doesnt really get hungry till she gets her Ondansetron and Mirataz, which she gets at am shot time. She ate 20 grams at AMPS, 25 g at +1, 57 g at +2 and 36 g at +4. I feed her right after I test.
Not sure if +4 is the express lane, but she did drop into green. Shes asking for food again but Im going to monitor her close today, so I'll do a +5 in about 15 minutes.

Good job getting a +4, looks like express lane to the lagoon. Nice to see some greens :D. I didn’t realize you were still dealing with pancreatitis, I thought that had resolved. I think getting a +5 is a good plan. No shenanigans, Karamelle, let’s see a nice green surf.

Just did the +5, up to 106. Yeah, its looking like the Pancreatitis is chronic, so she may just have ongoing issues. Shes actually my ELEVENTH cat with Pancreatitis. My first one was in 2014, 10 years ago, which is when I started the Facebook group Cats with Pancreatitis. I never imagined so many of my cats would get this. I used to have a lot of cats. Im down to 6 now.
It was unfortunate for Karamelle. She actually developed the Pancreatitis from eating a rat that wandered into the catio. She was so sick. Im going to have her fPL checked again at some point to confirm, but the lack of appetite in the morning tells me we are still dealing with it.

Oh boy, poor girl. On the positive side, you have heaps of experience recognizing pancreatitis, and today looks like Karamelle was having a very nice normal-ish cycle :D:cool:. She could have hung out in the lagoon just a wee bit longer, but shhh, don’t tell her I said that :p.

I wish her cycles would be like this every day, but I absolutely expect to get a bounce from this one green number. Where its bound to stay high for days, or... it will plummet at some point unexpectedly.

I get it, you are preaching to the choir here :). Unfortunately, much of this dance is not always within your control, and you are doing your best.

And I might point out that she's gone green on 2 out of 6 cycles on this dose. That's a good sign.

Having pancreatitis can cause higher numbers, might be why it's been a challenge lately. As Christie said, you do what you can, the rest is up to the cat.
