8/31 Lulu Increase current dose?

Hello, Lulu has been on 1 unit twice a day for the past week but is still having high numbers with some days in the 200s. Would it be best to increase the dose to 1.25 units twice a day?

Also, I'm trying to get to do more BG testing throughout the day but sometimes my cat doesn't let me do it. Is it harmful to do multiple tests a day to the ear? When I put light through the ear, I can see some redness in the areas tested if that makes sense.

Thanks!

With SLGS you need to do a curve testing every 2 hours for a cycle or every 3 hours for 18 hours every 7 days to decide whether to increase. You don’t have any tests past pmps. Would that be possible?

Frequent testing won’t hurt her and actually she will bleed more easily.

Yes I was doing a curve on Aug 30th but wasn’t able to get the rest of the testing due to my cat jumping every time. I was able to get some tests throughout the day and did the pm test for last night. The numbers seem to still be quite high

It does look like they are staying high. If you can get a test before bed at night at least once in awhile it will help fill in the picture. I’d increase to 1.25 but it’s important to get more tests to see how low a dose is taking your cat. Otherwise you might increase when data might show it’s not needed or even a reduction might be needed due to a cat bouncing. Are you testing fur ketones?

I’ll be doing another curve today to get in all the tests needed and I gave 1 unit in the morning. I’ll increase to 1.25 for the next dose. I’m not quite aware of ketones in general, so far I’ve been just doing BG level testing. Is it something I should be doing asap?

When diagnosed were ketones found? If you aren’t sure do you have a copy of tge labs then or since then? You can get ketostix from any pharmacy to test the urine. If ketones were present in the past you want to check more often than if not there.

I don’t think we did a test for ketones, she was diagnosed through her glucose level from a general blood test and then did a fructosamine test after to confirm. But I will get it regardless and test her

Just to make sure, is this the correct one?
