Good evening,

Binie had quite a flat, mostly pink day today. Let's see what tomorrow brings but seems like we have to go further up with the dose.

Thursday is her last day on antibiotics. It makes me a bit nervous because I wonder, if it was long enough to reduce the bacteria sufficiently. I am also wondering, if she is drinking more water again, which would be a bad sign. I therefore measured the water in all her water bowls after the shot tonight and will see, how much is left by tomorrow. Maybe I am just panicking. :nailbiting:

I hope everyone has a safe surf and a relaxed night! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike,
I measure Ivy's water at every feeding and dump out what is left and write the info in her log.
I also find when she's in pinks and reds, she definitely drinks more than her normal.

I hope the antibiotics have done their magic for Binie!

Maybe put a question in your title to see about dosing advice and to get you answers about an increase.
She did have nice blues yesterday, so maybe a bounce back up today?

How is she feeling? I hope not still hiding any more.

I hope you both have a nice night with a restful sleep :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Staci,

oh wow, I didn't think about measuring the water every day but that is useful data for sure! I should have done that before but I didn't even think about it. Thank you so much for pointing this out! :bighug::bighug::bighug: I love to learn from this! I'm not sure if it will be always 100 % exact for Binie, because she loves to drink rainwater from puddles outside or from the birdbath (yikes...), but it will give a tendency to measure the water from her bowls.

I think Binie is feeling quite well at the moment. She is active and eats well. No hiding anymore. At the weekend she didn't lick her wounds at all, so I thought maybe the procain worked wonder. Since yesterday she started again from time to time but her skin looks still alright.

I will ask about the dosing tomorrow evening, when we have completed seven days. Maybe a miracle happens over night. :) Yes, I hope it is just a bounce today. I don't know if you use the libre function to look up the average glucose and "time in range". I feel it also gives a good tendency and Binie really improved with this dose. Just not as much as I would like her to improve...

I hope you and Ivy are well and you could also take your time to chill a bit in the sun. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike, so glad Binie is feeling good and eating well. You may still get a low number tonight. Tiger has been high and on this dose a week and went down to 102 last night. So, I hope you see blue tonight!
Have a great night!

Hi Heike, I’m so happy to hear that she is feeling well and eating well. That’s the best news. I love hearing that:bighug::bighug:

I guess you’re right that you can’t count for all of the water she drinks if she does drink outside somewhat but at least you’ll know what she’s drinking inside if you do check. I find the information very helpful. It definitely lets me know, what’s going on with her? I also keep a log on how many times she pees and poops as well (hard or soft, etc) . I guess I’m a bit OCD about all of her functions, but it helps me to know what’s going on with her.
If I left it to my memory, I wouldn’t remember anything :arghh:

Yes, I do look at the various screens you mentioned in the Libre. It’s very interesting to see that change over time :)

It is great news that Binie has improved in those areas too on this dose. And we will hope she will continue to improve :)

I hope you are sleeping soundly by now. It’s late where you are :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Staci,

I don't find that ocd at all. All this data are gems, we get for free. No poking or anything, just observing. You are doing such an amazing job being mindful about all this! Can you imagine that until last year I almost never saw Binies poop or pee? She always did everything outside and ignored the litter box. If I had to collect pee or poop as a sample, I had to keep her inside and she did everything to hold it in. While she was in the clinic for the iodine treatment, she didn't poop and peed for 36 hours before she finally gave in. I don't know why she changed her mind but at new years eve 2022 I suddenly found poop in her litter box. From then on she started to use it more and more and even came home to go to the litter box. I was always happy to get the information but I never wrote anything down and my memory is not the best. Sometimes in the evening, I wonder if she really pooped or if I just think she pooped. So I made a column in my ss now and hopefully it gets easier. Thank you so much for reminding and motivating me!

I will also start to measure the water intake, but to be honest I am overwhelmed to do it daily. I think about doing spot checks each week.

Thank you so much for following Binies progress with so much kindness and encouragement! This helps so much! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hope you and Ivy are all well! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
