Well we got a surprise this morning with a BG of 151. I fed him as usual, then wondered if I should have retested in 15 mins before feeding to see if he was continuing to drop, but I did not. I was so surprised by the drop into the BLUE, that I just fed him. He did receive his Lantus 2 units, and I am going to retest at +1.

As I wrote the date on this post, I still got so emotional, even though that day 9/11/2001 was 19 years ago. Many probably do not remember the event. I remember exactly what I was doing and will never forgot. I was in Boston and it was quite a panic trying to get home and also watching the devastating attacks on TV. No, this forum is not the place to mention this, sorry. It is just so much on my mind.

Beautiful start for Gideon Blue! I hope he's done with all those high numbers!

I remember exactly where I was when I heard too. We will never forget.

Should I test hourly for a few times?

    Did he eat well?

There might be a food bump... although I’d never say not to test..

That’s how you know where he’s headed..

He did eat well - 2% carb Beyond wetfood with some dried chicken and Stella & Chewies that I use as treats.

I did buy some Weruva PLAY food yesterday. Website says it is a bout 7% carbs. A bit higher than what I like to use as an every day food, but that is what he ate last night. Gideon liked it, and my most picky eater (Ezekiel) ate it with no problem. I reviewed all the food that I use because I also want to start to give lower phosphorous. All my kitties are 13 years old now, and probably are in beginning stages of kidney disease. They have blood tests in 4-5 weeks, and they are tested twice yearly, just to keep an eye on them.

I will make sure Gideon eats something. He is doing pretty good at +2=173.

Nice to the morning bg. He was high enough that I wouldn’t have stalled. You will know more by +3. I remember where I was on that awful day too.

+3 = 133, so Lantus is kicking in. He just ate a bit of 3% carb food. Should I give him a bit of the 7% carb food to slow the decline which could be for the next 3 hours?
So glad I am working from home today, but I do work overnight tonight.

That sounds good. It’s still low carb.

+4 = 126. Just gave him a small amount of 7% carb food to lessen the next drop, though the last one was only slight. Will test at +5.

My Gideon has his BG double in just one hour! He is up to 245 at +5! What a difference an hour makes.
I was liking the BLUES, but I will take YELLOW too.

Well.....Gideon's PMPS = 325. I looked back at his spreadsheet and there is a chance he could go low tonight. I am going to retest at +1, +2, then leave for work. Husband will retest at +3. Then if he is going down, he will get up and test again, though not sure when. My husband knows all about the hypo kit, and I will leave it out for him. The problem is, he will not want to stay up like I would.

At +1 Gideon's BG is 445! This is 120 point increase in exactly 1 hr! He ate 6% carb food after his PMPS, but before his insulin.
I will still test in 1 hr, then hubby will test an hour after that, but I doubt if he will plummet tonight. Hubby can sleep, and I don't have to worry all night while I am working.

Djoko does it too - climbing 120 points within an hour. I don't know how to stop that!
