Day 8!! He vomited up all his dinner last night not long after I fed him (more like regurgitated as it was undigested). Fancy Feast seems to help keep his BGLs lower, but if I feed it too long, it tends to upset his stomach. I fed him again about an hour later, but his regular Weruva food and it stayed put. PMBG was great too, whew! Have only fed Weruva since last night.

Over half way there. Go Max! :D

I wonder what is in the Fancy Feast that doesn't agree with him.
I don’t really know, but I wish I did! It’s not one single flavor, either. He’s vomited with it before, and once got REALLY constipated. I usually will mix half FF and half Weruva if I have similar flavors. His fave Weruvas are 4-7% carbs, so I’m always trying to get him lower, but he hates the low carb Weruva choices, dang cat. :p

Nice job Max!!! Keep it up! :D:D

Have you noticed if it is associated with a particular protein? Ive realized that chicken makes Simon vomit more- he seems to do better with the fish flavors.

Only 5 more days!!! :cat:

Max has gravitated towards the fish flavors too. This was a newer one to him - the salmon & shrimp. He ate thru one can no problem. He loves the Salmon, so I figured it would be ‘safe’. He refuses the turkey & giblets, the beef, etc., but he’s also thrown up with the cod, shrimp and soloe, so duh, it JUST occurred to me that maybe he and shrimp don’t get along? His Weruva Ciao Baby has bay shrimp, but they are whole and both cats usually leave them unless I break them up. I will probably stick with the Salmon from now on. I thought maybe wheat or artificial flavoring, but who knows.

Did he eat fast and do a "scarf and barf"? Just wondering if maybe there are flavors of the FF that he really likes so he eats them too fast and then UP they come?
You know, I didn’t watch him. It was so freaking hot here (still is- 107 said my SUV) that I made him stay inside from noon on. We dog sat my niece’s dog (they we’re going to be out and have no AC), so I fed him in my girls’ room, then walked away. I got a “Moooooom! Max just puked!” He jumped back up on a bed and settled down like nothing happened. Maybe protesting the new dog, too??

It is so hard to figure out! I think you might be on to something with the shrimp though- it is a known allergen! Best of luck! :woot:

Well now I can't find the source for that... I know shrimp can cause allergic reactions in cats, but it is not one of the top culprits like chicken or grains. It seems like they can develop a reaction to anything at any time, actually! o_O I just ordered some rabbit so we will see how that goes?:cool:

Good luck with that! Mine are so picky I haven’t wanted to try it!
