Good morning,
Well yesterday was just fugly pinks then even yellow all day and night. Major bounce after Friday’s all green Libre cycle.
This major bouncing is something we haven’t seen until we increased to 3.75 Fat dose last week. She has been very flat for a long while on the previous dose of 3.75 units.
I hate seeing her spend so much time back in pinks. Her water intake goes up and of course she pees more.
Looks like she’s breaking her bounce this morning
We are now at +1 and she’s dropped to 93 on the Libre.
That was a very fast dive. Looks like it’s carb time. ;)

Have a safe Sunday everyone :cat:

Hey Staci, couple of questions for you.

Do I recall correctly that Ivy is using transdermal methimazole for her hyperT? If so, why did you go transdermal, how well does it work for Ivy, and what brand / where do you get it?

Also, are you feeding anything special for the IBD? A novel protein or anything? I’m dealing with a very tenuous situation with one of my cats so was just curious.

Hope Ivy has a nice steady day (although it looks like you’re off to an interesting start).

Hi, yes, correct Ivy is using transdermal for hyperthyroidism. I have a local compounding pharmacy that I get it from. I know they mail their product out. If for some reason you need their information. I am happy to provide it.

I do feed Ivy a novel protein (lamb) diet, which I prepare. The recipe is formulated by a veterinarian/nutritionist that I use. We work together virtually. I really like her and if you also need that information, I would be happy to provide that.

Sorry to hear you have a challenging situation with your kitty.
If I can help, just let me know :bighug::bighug:

I forgot to answer “why” transdermal. I wanted to try to reduce any possible stomach upset or digestive issues and have read the oral meds can cause all kinds of problems.
We are still hoping to find the right dose of transdermal. We will have another blood test next week to see if the recent increase has brought the T4 down.
So far she seems to tolerate the transdermal ok, just hoping she’s absorbing it properly so we can stick with it.

Hi Staci,
Busy morning for Ivy.
Mikan too, decided to jump off the cliff this morning
Scrambling to feed her to get BG up now. She's so finicky - refused 19%. Refused 20%. Now munching on 14%. Hope she eats enough to get her go up a bit.
Wishing you a peaceful Sunday Staci! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Kit, well look at Mikan go! Yikes. I didn’t think she was a fussy eater. I hope she eats what is needed to stay safe.
Ivy had a brief did then changed her mind. Back up again o_O Maybe she’s not yet done with her Bounce?? (Who really knows)

Have a safe day! I hope your dinner last night was a success. Wishing you a drama free day!

Hi Staci,

argh... that was a bigger bounce yesterday than expected. Happy she is back in better numbers but it seems to be a bit up and down today. Hope she gets used to these green numbers soon and the bouncing stops. I am sorry, the drinking and peeing is more. I hope it is just for a short time.

Hope you have a relaxed sunday and Ivy surfes in safe numbers! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike, I had a feeling that was going to happen since she spent so long in lower numbers. She hasn’t had a long, nasty pink bounce like that in almost 2 months.

I’m patiently waiting for her to come back down to nicer numbers again.
I hope you and Binie had a nice Sunday. Have a relaxing evening :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Staci :) Looks like Ivy gave a good bounce after her green day on the 6th. In fact, it looks like the first time, at least this year, that she's had an almost completely green both AM and PM cycles. Congrats!!!! that's amazing. You're doing such a great job with her.
Looks like Ivy like the fat dose :joyful: I hope that she gets to safe surf on this dose and into the greens again soon. It's great that she left the pink zone quickly.
Sending you much love :bighug::bighug::bighug:
