Hi, Evey's recent blood works show that her K level is lower than normal (normal range is 3.5 - 3.8 mmol/L). The following her recent blood work results:
  • March 26 K 2.8mmol/L
  • April 6 K 2.7mmol/L
The vet is not sure what causes the low K.

I read an article online saying that eating fish or duck for a long time could cause low K. I kept feeding her Leonardo Fish, Leonardo Duck, and Fecillia Fish and turkey. I wonder if it's the cause.

Also, I noticed that Evey has been drinking about 100ml water from her water bowl everyday. Not sure if it's related.

She has protenuria, but her CREA & Pho are in normal range. She has been taking Telmisartan for protenuria for about 5 months now.

Does anyone have any idea what could cause low K and what i can do to help her increas K level?

Thank you~

One of the more common causes of low K is kidney problems but it can also be related to diabetes. I'd encourage. you to discuss the lab results with your vet.
