So two days ago Ailish started refusing food. For the past month she’s been really good about eating the wet food I give her, even though she was always a dry food cat before.

The vet said it was better to let her have some kibble then starve her, but I’m trying to figure out a way to do this that is as ideal as possible.

I ordered some Dr Elsey and am waiting for it to arrive. Does anyone have any experience with it/ advice for dealing with dry food addicts?

There are some other options like freeze dried or air dried raw food. (Check out Stella & Chewy's or ZiwiPeak.) Sometimes, just crumbling a piece of kibble on top of the canned food -- or mixing it in -- may help. I've not used Dr. Elsey's so I can't comment.

Have. you been feeding Ailish the Royal Canin Pea and Rabbit? If so, try something else. The ingredients are not always optimal. If you need a novel protein diet, I think ZiwiPeak is a far better option.

Pookey has been a dry food guy his whole life. We’re now doing some wet food at shot times and Dr Elsey’s in between. He has been loving the Elsey’s and other members here recommend it frequently, so it sounds like you made a good choice.

@Sienne and Gabby (GA) Thanks! I’m in the process of figuring out a final diet now so I’ll keep that in mind, I appreciate the info!
