The amount of misinformation and direct untruths in this article completely infuriates me. Of course, it probably has something to do with Veterinary Practice News being owned by Bowtie Inc, publishers of Cat and Dog Fancy, as well as Pet Product News, a mouthpiece for Hills Pet "Nutrition" Company.

Yes, food intolerances to grains are far more common than allergies, but they are no less serious or affecting to the cat! And it completely ignores the other problem with feeding grain filled diets, CARBS.

If any newbies read this, please understand that this article is not valid, and there are plenty of veterinary articles that show grain filled diets are not good for cats, contrary to what is said in the article, e.g. http://www.catinfo.org/docs/zorans_article.pdf, or as Dr. Lisa Pierson explains in plainer terms on her site, www.catinfo.org.
