I have been looking for a monitor for my cat. Anyone who is in Ontario Canada where did you get your monitor? Everywhere I go they tell me I need a prescription for the monitor, test strips, and lancets. I’m so frustrated.

    Waving from the Kawarthas.
You ABSOLUTELY DO NOT need a prescription for the monitor, test strips, and lancets.

I used the FreeStyle Lite and bought from Shoppers Drug Mart using my PC points. A couple of people in Ontario use a OneDrop subscription service for strips. I'll tag @Butters & Lyla for you.

I’m in BC and I got the contour Next with no issues from Wal Mart.

The first meter I got was an Abbott freestyle lite. I found a coupon on Abbott's website for a free meter with purchase of strips, and went to Shoppers Drug Mart. There was no problem getting it.

You can also buy a meter and strips online. www.diabetesexpress.ca for supplies is about as reasonable as they come, imo. I've never been asked for a prescription there, either.
