Bloated and gassy kitty

Any suggestions on what I can do for my gassy kitty. At times, he appears to be bloated and weird noises from his tummy are heard. He eats the Fancy Feast classic pates (mostly liver/chicken & turkey giblets). Sometimes he eats a little bit of Dr. Elsey's clean protein chicken (for dry). Thanks!

 

Try adding probiotics to his food. I have a dog that has similar issues and that is what I do for her.

 

What type, any brand recommendations?

You can use human ones from any pharmacy that carries them but this one is specifically for cats (and contains S. boulardii )

If you look for one at a human pharmacy, just look for ones with the most different strains. The Renew Life brands are popular

Is there a short form for 'Out of Remission'

 

Proviable is a good probiotic.

I use Proviable and FortiFlora for my cats. S Boulardii gave my two cats with IBD worse diarrhea and gas. One of my IBD cats doesn't do well on FortiFlora, the other doesn't do well on Proviable.

How frequently is your cat having bowel movements? Are they solid and formed?

 

They are solid, but I do hear him pass gas while he's tempting to have a bowel movement.
