Hi Patty,

Been following on Blue's spreadsheet during the server outage. Blue's cycle last night is exactly what I've really been hoping to see and you did a sterling job of the testing last night.

Did you feed at all during the night time cycle, Patty, and was the low carb food given at +2 or earlier? I'm asking because knowing *exactly* when you gave food last night - and how much -is so important because it worked really well, and hopefully it could work well again. Getting the timing right is looking so critical for your bouncy boy.

Also, did you do any additional feeding in the early part of this morning's cycle?

I gave him his morning meal and he eats a good bit. He also waits for leftovers, silly boy. I did not feed until +5 and I gave him some LC and HC together.
Then at + 6 I fed him MC food. +7 is when he eats his normal meal. I thought I'd wait to test +10 because he was heading up and he also ate. Sound okay?

I wasn't sure if the SS updated or not. I'm glad you could follow. I only gave Blue LC food at +2 but if he had dropped into greens I would have fed again.

He might bounce. Dropped too far too fast again this AM. I'm also worried that the extra carbs at +5 and +6 might bump him up. I'm hoping that the +10 might be more down to the carbs than the beginning of another bounce. Guess we'll have to wait and see what his nibs is gonna do. (((Blue)))

I'd suggest a test at +1 again.

What we're trying to do is get ahead of Blue's typical fast, substantial drops to intervene at just the right time with the right level of carbs to slow the drop. It's different to using food to steer Blue through a run of low numbers. If he gets to do a steep, fast drop down to lower numbers - even blue numbers - the damage is done, there's a bounce in the offing and any feeding done at that stage is firefighting (usually to keep BG in safe numbers).

Even if there's only a small drop from the previous BG level (say, 20 points) at +1 and +2, give him a sneaky couple of tsps of LC.
