Hello,
I am currently using the alphatrak lancet device. I noticed there are many other brands that are much cheaper for sale on the ADW Diabetis site. I'm paying $18.99 for 100 and I see several brands for as low as $3.22. These brands (such as UltiCare) list that they are compatible with other lancet devices however they do not list the AlphTrak.
Does anyone use other lancets with their Alpatrak 2 and if so, could you please let me know the brand and where you purchase them :) thanks!

I order many of my supplies from ADW. They give a discount when you order in bulk and when you set up automatic shipping. I also use the AlphaTrak lancet device. Here is the link to the exact product I use and it works purrrfectly. :cat:

You could get the $3 ones and just poke freehand if they don't fit the device. After the first week I stopped using the device. I found it harder to get the exact spot I wanted.

I recently found compatible lancets at Costco behind the pharmacy counter - 100 for $8.99. They're Abbott Freestyle lancets, and they fit into the lancing gun perfectly. They're 28 gauge just like what I normally buy. Box is easy to pick out because the lancets look the same (blue with same caps), and there's a butterfly on the box.

You do not have to be a Costco member to use their pharmacy for prescriptions, I would assume the same is true for anything behind the counter (which these are), but you could always call and ask if you are not a member :)

I, too, use the Abbot Freestyle lancets in the Alphatrak lancing device. They are exactly the same as the Alphatrak-branded ones and IIRC they are less than a quarter of the Alphatrak price.

As an alternative, you could always buy a ReliOn lancing device from Walmart. Buying the device would of course add to the initial cost slightly, but once you're past that, the lancets are a little under $2 for 100 (26 gauge). I think you get more in the same size box for about the same price of the smaller ones. It honestly doesn't matter what lancing device you use, so that might save you money in the long run.

ETA - just looked at the box of lancets sitting by the computer. The ReliOn lancets say that they are compatible with the FreeStyle lancing device - you might find you can just switch the brand of lancets and still use the device you have already. :)
