I just learned how to actually draw insulin properly! -which I haven't :( And that I have a cartridge which means I should be pushing back overdrawn - which I have :( I had no idea. OMG

What do I do?? Shooting time is in two hours. The only pharmacy open here is in town which is an hour's drive one way so I won't be back on time for shooting

And just don't push insulin back into the cartridge its the lubricant in the syringes that can cause the insulin to degrade

Hi Shelly, I don’t think I’ve dropped into any of your posts, I’m glad to see you are getting the hang of things. I agree with Gill and Sienne, it should be fine. I think many of us have done this in the beginning :). Since you are drawing out of a cartridge, I also wanted to mention not to inject air into it. You still lubricate the syringe by moving the plunger back and forth, but be sure it is at zero before drawing out the insulin from the cartridge.

Thanks for welcoming me:)

Yeah, I've consumed toned of knowledge in the past two weeks on a theme I've never imagined I'd need. But here I am. It's a crazy ride.

I've been around the clock with reading and learning and I just couldn't catch everything needed to know in time. trying not to beat myself.

My husband reminded me yesterday that it's not just my process but Fistuk's as well so I should let him do the work too LOL

I think I'm now caught up with the right way to inject, draw insulin, low-carb food and I'm starting TR today. Prepared Hypo emergency kit. printed all instructions and taped them in the kitchen....I'm shaking with nervousness but I want to give him a good shot in getting regulated properly and if possible to go into remission. I'm not happy with how high his glucose has remained and vets here are unreliable and unavailable.
