I need more advice tonight please after my near disaster yesterday

I Just tested him at he is at 12.6

I'm confused about this part
  • Above 200 (11.1 mmol/L) but below the cat's normal pre-shot value, a reduced dose might be wise.
I don't know what his 'normal' pre shot value is yet

I will not be able to stay up tonight to monitor, I'm pregnant and didn't sleep at all last night there is no way I will be able to get up

Do I give .5 or reduce the dose?

Thank you so much in advance this forum is a live saver

(dosing help not doing help my bad)

I think you should be fine with the 0.5 dose as long as James is eating well and you leave food out fir him overnight
Do you go to bed straight away after the shot or is it a couple of hours later. If it is later, you can get a before before bed test which will often tell you if he is likely to go lower.

I’m just going to tag @JanetNJ and @Panic as they are Prozinc users.
Hopefully they will answer soon

Normally I'm up until midnight and give the shot just after 10. I need to go into the office early tomorrow for a meeting. And I'm so tired I can barely keep my eyes open

Hes definitely eating well and I leave wet food out for him at night and replace it with fresh in the morning

You might want to change the shot to an earlier time if that suits your schedule.
You need to look after yourself as well!

Leave a good amount out for him overnight. Will he graze or eat it all at once?

You can go back (or forward) by 15 minutes a cycle OR 30 minutes once a day.
Prozinc could be a bit different as I think it is a bit more flexible than Lantus insulin so hopefully @JanetNJ or @Panic will be able to tell you
