Today CJ celebrates one month :otj:! She no longer exhibits the telltale signs of diabetes including excessive thirst, excessive hunger, and difficulty walking.

CJ and I thank the dedicated, caring members at FDMB for guiding CJ towards better health and for guiding me through the difficult moments.

Yes, I've been helping newbies here and enjoy it very much. Information I thought I'd never grasp, I understand now and it's great being able to share that with others here. I've referred quite a few members to your excellent links. I value your advice and even have a file marked BJM for reference when I need to look up something :)

    Thank you again.

    *Blush*

Keep in mind I learned it all here myself. I just tried to write up succinct briefs on a few topics that are asked commonly.

When I was new here, I thought you were a professional vet. You have a wealth of knowledge.

I was fortunate to have parents who were very smart and passed it on.

I thought BJM was a biological scientist of some kind.

Thank you! I thought the same thing about BJM being a scientist, too. Clearly BJM has the gift of a brilliant mind.

I'm an epidemiologist. We study disease in populations and attempt to identify the factors that increase your chances of developing or aggravating the disease and report on rates of various diseases. Typically, epidemiologists work in public health or in hospitals.

Yes, I saw that in your profile. Being an epidemiologist must be a very challenging but rewarding career.

Right now, I'm checking vital statistics files, of which they are trying to automate the processing. Many of us use the birth, death, and fetal death data and the annual files were being prepped pretty much by 1 person. The automation efforts are having some glitches and I'm finding them. I can't run my 5 year rolling average annual infant mortality profiles until the data are clean (!@#$%).
Here are the county graphs from last year. I want to add in the 2013 data
