    Hi Sarah-

I love these kinds of questions! I really like Buzz's new pic. Very pretty.

    1. What is your favorite magazine?
Right now it's Us and I like Real Simple too.

    2. What book are you currently reading/did you read most recently?
    I'm reading "Good in Bed"

    3. What is the worst book you've ever read?
I stop reading the bad ones, I won't push myself anymore. An example that comes to mind is "A Prayer for Owen Meany" it was just way too much annoying and seemingly pointless details. Someone told me I should have pushed through it but I couldn't.

    4. If a book is really suspenseful/intense, do you ever peek ahead at the ending, just to see if everything turns out all right?
    Nope

    5. Do you own more books than clothes?
Nope. I belong to a paperback book club online. It's free. Love it. Paperbackswap.com

I usually let a few people answer first, and then I answer. But since you insisted...;)

    1. What is your favorite magazine? I love magazines, so it's hard to choose. I think Marie Claire.
    2. What book are you currently reading/did you read most recently? I re-read The Client by John Grisham.
    3. What is the worst book you've ever read? I can't even remember the title but I think it was about a gorilla named Amy. It was so bad that I didn't finish reading it (something I rarely do).
    4. If a book is really suspenseful/intense, do you ever peek ahead at the ending, just to see if everything turns out all right? I have done this a few times.
    5. Do you own more books than clothes? I haven't counted, but I would say probably. If not, it's close.

    1. Better Homes & Gardens

    2. Recently--just finished "The Concubine's Daughter", liked it (am fascinated by asian culture & what life was like for women pre world wars) Also read the first 7 Charlaine Harris books in the Sookie Stackhouse series (they made them into the HBO 'True Blood' series--vampires and such)
Going to pick up the new Chelsey Handler book next week; her first 2 were hysterical, and for vacation next month--"Wuthering Heights", "Emma", "Persuasion", and a Jodi Piccoult. (I'm a fast reader--once read 8 books in 5 days on vacation!) I'm still trying to get through Brian Greene's "The Fabric of the Cosmos" (physics was not my fave, but an interesting read).

    3. "The Catcher in the Rye" Never understood why its a classic--couldn't wait to finish it and be done.

    4. No, I like surprises--I never shake presents, and don't watch movie trailors for films I'm excited to see (they always show the best parts).

    5. I probably do have more books than clothes. But, if you count shoes and handbags--then it might be a tie!

Traci--I loved all the books by J Weiner--are you reading them in order?

    2. What book are you currently reading/did you read most recently?
The Reiki Bible - I'm thinking about learning Reiki if I can find a master nearby. And I'm reading Traveling with Pomegranates by Sue Monk Kidd.

    3. What is the worst book you've ever read?
Dostevsky's Crime and Punishment. I punished myself and read the whole thing.

    4. If a book is really suspenseful/intense, do you ever peek ahead at the ending, just to see if everything turns out all right?
    Never

    5. Do you own more books than clothes?
No. I'm a library goer and I usually donate the few books I buy to the library.

    1. Don't really read magazines too much anymore. They seem to be mostly advertisements anymore instead of actual reading. And you can only read so many "de-clutter", "lose weight fast" and "improve your sex life" articles before you realize you've read them all already a dozen times over and you're wasting your money continuing to buy mags LOL!!!

    2. not reading one at the moment actually. i'm lucky to get to read the newspaper on sundays as of late. probably been at least 6 months since i read one and i can't remember what it was. which sucks 'cause i really like reading.

    3. any fiction book. and haven't bothered with those since mandatory reading in school probably.

    4. no but the first thing i do when i get a book is look at the pictures (i only read true crime, autobiography, and biography). then as i go along i have a better feel for the people involved

    5. i used to. then i realized once i've read a book i'm not going to read it again so i got rid of tons of books a few years ago. I donate them to the used book stores in the area, like at the library, which uses the $$ they make to update the library as needed.

Now this is the Friday Five for a librarian!

    1. What is your favorite magazine?
Hmm, I think my all-time favorite was "Organic Gardening" years ago, when I'd wait for each issue and read it cover to cover. Oh, and "Bird Talk" was fun for a while. "Newsweek" before the election. I try to force myself to read "Smart Money," but although I'd really like more, I find $$ boring.

    2. What book are you currently reading/did you read most recently?
I'm plowing through Pride and Prejudice and Zombies but not making progress quickly. I'm also reading Lord of the Flies which was not required school reading for me, but apparently was for my oldest sister.

    3. What is the worst book you've ever read?
The worst ones certainly don't get finished. An all time loser book isn't coming to me now, but the last book I gave up on was Krapp's Last Cassette.

    4. If a book is really suspenseful/intense, do you ever peek ahead at the ending, just to see if everything turns out all right?
Yes, I have, but not usually.

    5. Do you own more books than clothes?
    Oh yeah.

    Hi Jen-

I didn't realize there was an order to her books! I've read others though. My favorite was In Her Shoes and then they made a movie out of it which I didn't see but wanted to. Paperback Swap lists "highly rated books" and I scroll through it to see what looks good and this book was on the list. I was at the gym tonight and the thought struck me: what if the people on the message board don't realize the book I'm reading is fiction and they think I'm some kind of perv/sex freak?

    2. The last one I actually got through :D was called Distracted. It was really interesting, about how with all the technology we have our brains are going wacko trying to keep up.
    3. Amityville Horror? I was maybe 12 (?) and really didn't know what I was getting into.
    4. I think I did once and regretted it, so I try not to.
    5. Nope. I used to have a lot, but realized I never reread anything, so now I am in the read and pass it on to someone else camp.

Traci - oh yeah, I totally assumed Good in Bed was non-fiction til the follow-on comments started (she has a SERIES, lol?!?).... I didn't think that made you a perv, but I did have a  moment at your candor here on the message board :)

Donna - is "Bird Talk" for birders (thinking possible Xmas pres for the rents here!), or something totally different?

Traci--too funny, didn't even think of the  factor of that title!! Please tell me you didn't fall off the treadmill when you thought of that post--lol. There are only 2 in her series that are related-there's a sequel to "Good in Bed", but I'm struggling to think of the title right now. I'm sure I lent it to my DS, and don't want to bother her tonight. I personally like to read an author's books in progression, but its just bc I'm kind of an ocd person...
The movie version of "In Her Shoes" was cute, I thought. But of course, different from the book. Which is why I always read the book b4 seeing the film. Want to see The Blind Side, but have to get the book first!!

    Jen-

Speaking of the Blind Side - POOR Sandra Bullock. What a creep her H is. But, the critical part of me says she should have known better. He was formerly married to a porn star. Eeeeeew.

Hah! That's right! I posted here about Francis! Did you know he's OTJ and doing well (and BOY was he a MESS in the beginning) Can you believe I helped her get him into remission just from passing on advice I got from here? Unreal.

"Bird Talk" is about pet birds. Before I had kids to teach to talk, I had always wanted an African Grey Parrot. But I did have little birds, zebra finches and parakeets. And lived in a place easy to separate the cats from the birds. Though every now and then our guard would be let down and we'd find a cat draped over the cage.
