    Hello,

I am brand new, please forgive me as I’m sure this information is here. Can someone please help me with a spreadsheet?

    Hi Rochelle,
    Welcome to you and Archie,
I’m so glad you made it over to the forum.
I have been helping Rochelle with her kitty Archie who is recovering from DKA on FB. She is very tired from looking after Archie at home for a few days and getting up several times at night to tend him.
Rochelle is needing to set up a spreadsheet so we can help her with dosing and what to do if the BG is too low at preshot.
I know it is very late where she is at the moment and she may not come back online until the morning her time.
@Bandit's Mom would you be able to give Rochelle a hand with the SS please?

    @Rochellekat
I’ve just looked at your SS after seeing your post on FB. How many doses have you missed of insulin? It looks like three..although I suspect the am dose was given but not documented.
Can you confirm please? You mentioned the vet said to go to once a day dosing. That is not a good idea at all.
You would be better reducing the dose and giving it twice a day especially since he was so recently in hospital with DKA

Just in case....could you take a picture of where you're pulling the insulin in the syringe?

    Hi Bron,

yesterday morning, Archie had 0.25 units of insulin, skipped last night as he was to low. He was very high this morning, so he hit .5 units, to low to dose tonight.

    Hi Rochelle,
I’m not sure what you mean....are you saying that you gave 0.5 units this morning the. He dropped low?
Lantus is dosed on the nadir not the preshot number.
You need to stay with the same dose unless he drops too low. Chopping and changing is not good and skipping is definitely not good when he’s just recovering from DKA.

She entered .5 on the World side but for some reason it didn't transfer to the US side so I'm assuming she did .5 (although I think you know what I'm thinking)
