Bama Kitty has been on Novolin N for more than 4 years now and I can no longer regulate him. I'm considering an insulin change to Lantus later in the month when I take him in for a vet appointment. If vet agrees, I'd like to transition him to Lantus, using a pen and ordering from Marks Marine Pharmacy. What are some tips or advice or references you can point me to? I'm tagging some people who I believe can be especially helpful as I ponder this next move. Thanks! @Kris & Teasel @Chris & China

The hardest thing for you is going to be learning that Lantus doesn't work anything like Novolin. It takes time to bring the BG numbers down, but most cats do MUCH better on Lantus because it lasts longer and is gentler.

When you're ready to take the plunge, let us know. The dose will be based on how much Novolin he's getting at the time.
