I saw an ad for a vacuum lancing device. Supposedly it doesn't require "milking" the site for a drop of blood. They run around $160 but the ad had it for $60. Just wondering if anyone had tried this type of lancing device.

I use the lancets by themselves, and hand poke. I hope that it works well for you. :)

We use the one that came with the Relion meter. When the ear is warm, we usually don't have to milk the site for a drop.

I free hand it. I never got the hang of the lancet launcher.

Just did a search and looks like there are lots of different brands of these. Here's some info that I think is the type of thing you're talking about. The conclusions mention audible sound and slight vibration which might scare a cat. http://care.diabetesjournals.org/content/24/7/1217.full

You and I both, Rob. LOL Free handing the lancets seems to work better as you have more control as to where to poke.
