it is magical and wonderful and very....weird. FD ruled my life, day in and day out, for all of 2022 so far....until now. Kinda takes some getting used to!

You'll still see me around, I like to pop in to the Gen forum and give newbie threads some love now and again

 

Yeah, weird and wonderful makes sense. Right there with you for all of 2022, and what a joy to imagine the freedom of spontaneity, and not having to look at my watch and run home from a restaurant for shot time! I'm sure Hendrick is enjoying cuddling with his proud parents without all the pokes!

Looking through some old photos, in this picture he was just 4 days out from getting discharged after being hospitalized for DKA. His face is so thin. Been on insulin for 5-6 days at this point, and he is far from regulated and honestly is not a happy kitty at ALL. He is trying to enjoy the pats but really just wants to be left alone.




fast forward 6 months and you can REALLY see the difference. This picture was taken just the other day

so I did my first post-OTJ Trial weekly Hendrick Pokey last night before bed and wow, just a week off of ear pokes and it was like he had to be conditioned all over again! What a squirmy boy he was!

he clocked in with a 78, yay

 

Last night we did our last weekly BG test and he rang in with a 75! From here on, monthly checks are recommended and I just hope I can remember how
