    Good morning everyone,

Uneventful weekend for Peeka, my family came over and she got more pets than normal. Her neuropathy is more or less the same, some days it looks worse, other days she is able to make it from the laundry room to her water bowl in one go.

One thing I have noticed, is that she is spending more time at the water bowl again. I know her numbers aren't great, but that is slightly alarming for me.

I hope everyone had a good weekend!

May not be worth it atm, we are about to switch over her insulin. I'm not sure how the dosage will change from vetsulin to Prozinc or Lantus.

Good observation about the water. Look at Peeka's nadirs and you'll see they drifted upwards a bit. Have a look at the Vetsulin guide dose adjustment section for further info on BG targets.

When you know which insulin you're switching to you can post for advice on the starting dose for the new one.

Will do, we have been insanely busy and missing communication with the vet regarding having them fill the prescription for the Lantus, so the Prozinc may be a little bit easier to get our hands on right now.

Will do, I let her know about all the love she got from testing Peeka last week, she had a sense of pride about it for sure. I'm still the first option for testing and what not, but she is getting more comfortable at least and able to do so if I'm out.

Dosage should be the same no matter what you switch to. :cat:

If you're switching to Lantus then I suggest posting on the LBL board and asking for specific advice on starting dose. Personally, I'd probably start lower than the Vetsulin dose because of the depot, especially as Peeka has been known to drop down into the low hundreds at times on Vetsulin. I know what I'd do in my own circumstances (and I'd also consult with our vet) but in this particular area it's not something I'd feel comfortable commenting on for someone else's cat.
