I have my sister at the house testing her. I feel so horrible, I had no idea she would be getting down this low. She is apparently acting fine and eating currently. My sister is going to retest here in 20 minutes. She hasn't eaten since I left the house this morning at 8. I'm going to reduce her dosage tonight to 2.5u. I can't believe this happened though, she hasn't gotten this low in almost a week and a half.

Peeka is now up to 60 +6. She has eaten both Dr. Elsey's and Pate wet food.

She said she'll stick around until her BG goes up a little bit higher and she's in a safe zone.

@Deb & Wink @Critter Mom Am I still correcting in lowering the dosage tonight? Looks like Peeka is on her way to a bounce. I might have overreacted in getting some food in her.

Can't help with the dosing, Peter, as I've only a passing acquaintance with Prozinc. I see you've already tagged Deb, but maybe if you update the thread title to indicate you need Prozinc dosing help for tonight and perhaps also post on the Prozinc group board you might get additional input.

    Nice job from sis!

Sounds good, Thanks Mogs. Has anyone heard from @jt and trouble (GA) recently? I don't think I've seen her here in a few days.

Jeanne posted the day before yesterday to say she's not very well at the moment. She had a test for covid and it was, thankfully, negative. I hope she'll be back soon. I miss her.

ETA: Correction - Jeanne is awaiting the result of a second test. Sending prayers that she's OK.

I try and giver her a snack before leaving, I don't think we have the last few days. She has neuropathy and difficulty getting up onto her food table without assistance currently, otherwise she would have open feed. Leaving food out on the floor also isn't an option since we have a dog who has had pancreatitis issues in the past and higher fat foods sets it off.

Reducing to 2.5 is the right move. She was just slightly low, and probably about at her lowest point. Nothing to panic about. A little of her regular food is all that she needed at that point... but she did earn the reduction.

Thanks for your advice. It’s always a bit of a panic seeing greens since we’re not entirely used to them still.

So only the 2.5U dose for Peeka tonight.
Anytime you see those neon green BG levels, it's an automatic dose reduction, decreasing by 0.25U.

Plus remember the axiom "Feed the 40's". So any BG readings that are down in that range or lower, your cat needs some food to help bring the BG levels back up.

@jt and trouble (GA) :bighug: Get better soon.

Hi Jeanne I hope you both feel better very soon. My sister , her husband and her son had it.

First her son, then my sister and her husband.
My sister and her husband both had mild cases, her son was worse.
Someone where my sisters son works went to Florida and brought it back to work.
So my sisters sin brought it home.
Both of you take care and I hope it passes quickly ♥:bighug::bighug:
