Arrrgh I was rushing around when I got home and did the glucose, and fed all the animals...... I can't for the life of me remember if I did the insulin. I have major brain fog. If I get out routine or don't write it down then I will not remember. Now I don't know what to do. I can't give AM dose tomorrow any later because I have to leave for school/work.

I had a log book. I shot then immediately wrote the time and dose in the book. Nothing interfered with that. Getting a good routine can really help.

Don't be mad, pretend it was a fur shot. It happens.:bighug:

Log book, great idea!

I also will put out the two needles on the kitchen counter that I need for the next day the night before and that helps me.

I set the clean feeding bowl, the new can of food, and the needle so they're ready to go when I'm in a rush... or forgetful.

I use a weekly planner and immediately log it all. I wish I could upload pictures to show you instead of what I wrote below...

First thing, I get the Pen from the refrigerator and a syringe and lay it next to the planner on the counter; this is the counter area real close to where Leo gets all this 'fun.' I keep the other needed items in a tray (reused from Costco pre-cooked beef brisket) to hold the meter bag, little Vaseline container, needle clippers/storage tool, and any other things that find themselves in there--LOL. (I'm a work-in-progress trying to be more organized.)

Test~Feed~Shoot sequence....

IU amount
AM BGTime ShotTime Details of food or anything to note
(This appears on the first row of the day's details.)
+1 BGTime ShotTime
....
PM BGTime ShotTime
+1 BGTime ShotTime

Right after the BG, I write the BG level and time.
Right after the shot, I look at the time... and usually write it first thing; if not, I say it aloud and talk to Leo and tell him the time... (hoping I can remember the time when I do write it down. Since I usually have my husband assisting as souz chef, then Leo gets his food. If he's not available, I get the food ready first and set it aside so Leo isn't distracted while warming/poking his ear.
After the shot, I document the time, keep Leo on the counter to eat ... snip the needle off the syringe, recap the syringe and throw away in the trash and out pen back in the fridge.
Why let Leo eat the majority of his food on the counter? Because our 2nd cat will eat Leo's food. Andy is like that and eats everything.

Do what works for you!
:cat:

I always took out 2 syringes in the morning and put them on the kitchen counter.
Right after I gave the dose I put the used syringe in the red/dark orange syringe disposal box.
If I couldn't remember if I gave the AM shot, I could look on the counter and if there was only 1 syringe left there, I knew I gave AM shot.
If I couldn't remember if I gave the PM shot, I could look on the counter and if there were no syringes, I knew I gave the PM shot.
