I've been searching and searching for the carb content of UK brand of Whiskers Simply Steamed Fish cat food, but just cannot find it listed in any of the carb content lists - they all seem to be fairly US or European based, not so much UK brands of food.
I'm therefore hoping that someone might be able to either point me in the right direction, or better still have the skills necessary to analyse the following info and turn it into something that makes sense to me!
So the range is Whiskers Simple, individual pouches of Steamed Fish Selection, and is available is packs of sardine, salmon, tuna and whitefish, and states it is 'steamed tender pieces in jelly'.
The nutritional info on the box states the following:
Analytical constituents (%):
Protein: 8.5
Fat content: 5
Inorganic matter: 1.8
Crude fibre: 0.3
Moisture: 82
Additives per kg:
Vitamin B1: 15mg
Vitamin E: 10mg
Calcium iodide anhydrous: 0.3mg
Cupric sulphate pentahydrate: 5mg
Ferrous sulphate monohydrate: 33mg
Manganous sulphate monohydrate: 6.3mg
Zinc sulphate monohydrate: 44mg
Technological additives:
Cassia gum: 1300mg
Hopefully all this info may mean something to somebody, who can let me know what sort of carb content this food has, and how un/suitable it is for a diabetic kitty. I gotta say, it's been working pretty well over the past few months (see my previous post), but just interested to know if this is purely due to the contrast between dry cat food (which Cleo was previously eating) and wet cat food, and whether I could do any better for her within my budget.
Thanks in advance.
