Hi all. Sorry for yet another newbie question and if this has been asked before. Actually, it's a series of questions...

First off, I'm switching Tommy from Hill's m/d wet food to Fancy Feast classic. Since it is lower carbs and could affect his blood sugar immediately, how will I know if it's okay to give him his insulin? Should I check his blood sugar before I feed him the fancy feast? Should I start off with like 3/4 of the m/d food and 1/4 FF, and gradually get him off the m/d?

The safest thing to do is gradually change the % of each type of food over several days. Testing BG as you do this is important - before AM and PM meal/shot (no food 2 hours before) and at least once in the +5 to +7 range.
