At what point in insulin administration is remission likely to occur?
Please see Mel' s spread sheet of approximately 1-1/2 months.
    Thanks,
    Merrie and Mel

Merrie, there is no telling when a remission might occur. Every cat is different and has his/her own genetic makeup, experiences how insulin and diet influences them, so many factors. It's the ultimate hope, but regulation is a very good goal and a pathway to remission. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Mel is not experiencing extremely high BGs and you are working diligently to keep him safe and healthy. You are a good kitty mom.

I don't know about Prozinc, and will defer to experienced Prozinc users in regard to dosing, etc. Good luck and best wishes on this journey.

Remission is most likely with the first six month, but it can vary greatly. Many cats go into remission very quickly (as in within a few weeks), often associated with a change to low-carb wet food. Some cats go into remission after years on insulin. Some cats never go into remission.

Much thanks for the valuable info! Please keep in touch. I did go on the prozinc board and also got some very good input to his current #'s.
