Where is Saint Sue? I have been browsing through PZI and I don't see much activity from Sue. Is she playing Grandmother?

Sorry I have been away so long. My mother, who was 95 and had lived an amazingly wonderful life, went into home hospice in August. After 4 months of sadness and exhaustion on both our sides, she told me she was waiting to die until I went on a prearranged visit to see my kids and grandkids over Thanksgiving. As the hospice nurse said - why would I not grant her dying wish when I had tried so hard to give her what she wanted in every other way? So I left and my brother came to take over her care. She died on Thanksgiving night, before he was going to have to move her into a nursing home because her medical needs were too much to handle at home. Definitely did it her way, just as she had always lived her life.

She was a wonderful mother. I am peaceful and happy for her.

And ready to resume whatever duties are required on FDMB. :D

Oh Sue, I'm so sorry. It's never easy to lose a parent, but it sounds like she had a good long life, and lived it "her way". I guess that's all we can hope for. Bless you for being such an amazing caregiver.
