? Stubborn high - hold or reduce by 0.12?

Hi

Couple of lows averted yesterday on cycles 3 and 4 on the new dose. Appreciate Lily hasn't had a lot of time to settle on 1.25iu so I'm happy to hold the dose for a few more cycles but it does look like she's having a mini bounce today with stubborn numbers. Her depot won't be up yet either so I'm wondering whether 1.125 would be the next dose to try either now or if she drops again in the next day or two.

I did leave half a pouch of MC down last night after she dropped a bit just to head off anything overnight so that could explain a higher read this morning but not the refusal to drop today. Equally she's still adjusting and yesterday was a wobbly day so the lows could have been the anomaly.

Not that I'm overthinking it, of course.

Thanks

Liz

You are following TR and reductions are earned on a human meter by dropping under 50 so a reduction has not been earned. She’s bouncing from having bg numbers while in normal range, she’s not used to yet. The more time between 50-80, the less likely to bounce. Using food to keep her surfing in safe numbers is a strategy that will help her in the long run and not a reason to lower her dose. The 70’s are a nice place to be and actually feeding lc food at that point is what is usually done.

Great, thank you. So is a reduction earned if she drops below 50 despite intervention with food?

Correct. We use food to try and keep them above 50 as long as possible. If a reduction is really needed they will eventually drop under 50 even when attempting to keep the from dropping. Sometimes if lots of hc is needed for hours we decide to try a decrease. Lily was not even close to that. Yesterday’s cycle was a really good one. This is a good dose for her for now.
