Louie was diagnosed with his diabetes last May and heart disease in March. Since having to get a shot twice a day we are limited on who wants to give him the shot. We have two people. One with a one year old and the other is about an hour away. Other friends and family don't mind feeding him and giving the pills, but that doesn't help with the shot.

Is there some other way Louie can get his insulin for a day or two so we can go away for longer then a night?

    Any ideas would be great!

    Thanks,
    Steve

Check with your vets to see if anyone would be interested in coming over for his shots. Or maybe be willing to take him home with them while you are out of town

Try contacting some of the local vet offices. Often there are vet techs or other staff who will do some petsitting on the side and can do shots. Or they may know someone who dose. Check local petsitting services. my current petsitter has given insulin shots before.

Thanks for these ideas. I will ask our vet again. She gave us a petsitter before, but she moved away last year.
