Hi everyone -

Simone gets small doses of Lantus, and I've been looking for 31g 3/10cc syringes with half unit markings. Where can I find these? I'd really like to buy them in boxes of 100 if possible.

Thanks!

WalMart carries them - ReliOn brand. Ask for what you want (they're behind the pharmacy counter), then look at them and make sure they have the half-unit markings. They had 3 different kinds here - only one had 1/2 units.

Hocks.com has several brands of half unit marked insulin syringes. But I hear that since Hocks.com was bought out by another company, the customer service stinks :?

The link Melissa posted is what I used for my diabetic. They are 29 gauge 1/2 inch needles, though.

Here's the link to the 30 gauge 5/16 inch half unit marked ones: http://www.americandiabeteswholesal...t-ultra-comfort-insulin-syringes_1291_178.htm You can also buy it as a case of 3 (so 300 insulin syringes).

And here's the 31 guage 5/16 inch half unit marked ones: http://www.americandiabeteswholesale.com/product/monoject-ultra-comfort-insulin-syringes_2552_88.htm It also is available as a case of 3

Wal Mart's Relion brand of insulin syringes has half unit markings but not everyone has a Wal Mart nearby or easy access to one.

Any Human pharmacy sells half unit marked insulin syringes. I've bought the BD insulin syringes from CVS before. A prescription may be required. Ask at your pharmacy. And before you pay for the insulin syringes, check the box to make sure that you have the correct insulin syringes. Sometimes the pharmacy people will be clueless and give you insulin syringes that are 1/2 cc or have 1/2 inch long needles and insist that it what you really want

It's putting it mildly to say it stinks!! I ordered syringes from Hocks on November 7 and got their usual message that the syringes hadn't arrived from their supplier. About ten days ago I called to ask what was happening and if they could substitute another brand. I didn't get a chance to ask if they could substitute because their "representative" kept interrupting me. Finally he said "I am trying to say something - give me a chance." So I did - and he said "Good-bye" and hung up. I never did get to ask about substituting.

I did learn something in a conversation with Hocks. They let it slip that it's "too expensive" to keep syringes in stock. What they are doing, apparently, is waiting until their entire shipment has been ordered by customers, then placing their order to the supplier in China or wherever - and the supplier may not start to make them until they receive the order. Don't expect anything, anything at all, from Hocks.

Relion won't work for me because North Dakota has an insane law that only licensed LOCAL pharmicists can own pharmacies. Walmart can't have them. Great for the pharmacists, terrible for the customers. I tried to order them online from Walmart, but they don't show up in the online catalog. Sure Comfort won't work because the half-unit markings start at 1 1/2, and I need to accurately measure 3/4 unit for Ragnar. Nothing is available locally, and they won't order them. (Why should they? They've got the world by the tail!) I am going to try some of the links in the this post. If we truly run out (I ordered with about 3 weeks' worth left), can someone please send me some, which I will pay back (or pay forward) when mine eventually arrive?

Blessings,

You can get them at walmart for about 11 bucks...that's the cheapest I've found them. Ask for .3cc, 30-31g syringes with 5/16" needles with half unit markings. Sometimes they have to order them but they arrive within 48hrs.

Thanks! I have them in my shopping cart at ADW now (31g, 5/16" needle, .3cc, half-unit markings!) but before I check out, I'd like to verify with someone else who uses them that the half-unit markings start at 1/2 unit. I bought some Sure Comfort the last time Hocks goofed up (i.e. the last time I ordered from Hocks :? ) and found that the half-unit markings began at 1 1/2 unit!! There was no mark at the first half, so I couldn't use them to measure 3/4u for Ragnar. I gave them to someone whose cat uses more than a unit, but don't want to make the mistake again...

Blessings!
