In just over a week since he has been home from the vet he is calm and relaxed. I am petting him often even scratching his neck. I even heard a purr today! Ear touching is iffy still but it won't be long at this rate. Finally got a urine sample and it was negative for sugar and ketones! I know this doesn't mean he isn't diabetic but it does show a food change is helping and will buy some time until I can test. I was really apprehensive to test his urine - if there were ketones I knew we were in big big trouble.

That is a good sign and he MAY not be diabetic any longer. Getting a BG wouod be good since glucose shows in the urine when BG is >180-240 (the exact number varies with the cat) and a BG of 180 is really not good. I would just continue to periodically test the urine for now.

    Very promising on all fronts!

Thanks for posting an update. I’ve been wondering how things were going.
