What are normal ketone levels on Nova Max meter?

Sorry if this is answered somewhere but I've been searching the forum for hours and can't seem to find the answer. I have the Nova Max meter which also tests ketones. Vinnie was 0.5 last night and I want to make sure that's "normal". I am not too concerned as his appetite is good, his weight is good, his urine output is normal and his water drinking is normal. He seems fairly asymptomatic but his BG levels have been a bit all over the place (he was OTJ for a while until he broke into a tub of greenies that I have for the other cats) and I decided to check for ketones last night. He's probably all over the place partly due to initially using a 4 month old bottle of insulin and me being in the process of figuring how much insulin he should be getting right now, but I want to make sure there's no ketone issue.

Thank you! But I'm doing the start low go slow method so there's probably not enough data yet-only 2 days at the current dose. Right now I'm mostly concerned about the ketone levels.

I did a search and found this , you can always type something in above where it says search , I found it by just typing in nova max and ketones

Id stay with the 0.5 dose. Don't lower it unless he goes under 90

You are welcome, you just have to keep looking through each post where you see the word nova max , it could take awhile

I've used Nova Max. 0.5 is fine. Anything 2.44 and over indicates calling the vet and getting help. Personally if I got a 1.5, I would start going down the checklist of reasons: make sure cat is eating, is insulin due for increase, is there a uti, any dental problems, any other infection possible. Get extra water into them. Check ketones more often. If all those are fine and value is going up I would call vet right away. It can escalate very quickly and turn quite serious.

any point of the day. you shouldn't shoot at all at a 90 preshot.
