wheezer

I posted on FB but not here but I had to let my wheezer go on saturday. he was a little over 19 y/o
was not diabetes.
we danced the dance for 8 years with 2 remissions, I was mistaken. this dec would have been 9 years
tons of friends were made.
TY all for being there for us

will miss you my loud, wheezing snorting little boy.... sure is quiet around here

 

Dian, I am really sorry to read about Wheezer. I remember you guys from when I first came on board here. I so udnerstand on how quiet it can be.... it was like that when Mannie crossed. I will hope there is some comfort for you with all the memories. Fly free Wheezer, so many of us will miss you.

Wheezer was a legend. He had a wonderful life with his amazing mamabean. 19 years old, 8 years FD! That is a remarkable achievement. What lovely memories you will always have, Dian, and your boy is right there, in his special place in your heart.

Oh, Dian. My heart breaks for you. I know you know that he had a good life and that he will be waiting for you, but it doesn't relieve the emptiness you feel. I will light a candle tonight for our friend and pray for him and you. I pray for him to give you a sign that he is okay. Tears!!!!

 

Dearest Dian,

I hope you can feel my hugs from miles away. I thought I was done crying, but it looks like I was wrong.
But what really gets me?

Three days ago, when I was mired in grief and pain, and inconsolable, you said this:

There you sat, with your precious boy, stuck in your own "hell", and yet you took the time to speak to me. To try to put a smile on my face when facing the same thing yourself. Hours later, you gave your Wheezer the greatest gift of all, at the cost of your heart. You are an angel, my friend.

I pray that you are okay, and that your heart can heal quickly. And that you can smile in the days ahead.

Fly high and free, Wheezer. Keep your Mom in your heart and help her to keep only the good memories there.

p.s. - Here's the part where I try to make you smile...
I would have to choose "live together". Don't think I'm going to ever try that whole marriage thing again. And we'd each have to maintain our homes, maybe summer up there and winter down here? I don't know if I'm up for a Northern winter ever again.
And I will promise you two things:
1 - breakfast in bed on your birthday every year.
2 - I will always put the seat back down.

Hmmm.... now that sounds like a good starting point. I do think more negotiations and concessions are needed.

 

thanks you all so much for your outpouring of love and thoughts.
it has been a tad trying at times. trying to keep busy and my mind occupied. 6 others do help there.
it still feels like a dream.
I still call him to eat and test time.

for the newbs and anyone that does not know..... if anyone ever tells you that you have been PAWED (pulling a wheezer).... wheezer coined that one. cause on .1u of insulin he would go from a 200, into the 20's. he is the only cat I know that was on such a small dose yet could not get him back OTJ.
