Yesterday at vet's

Good Morning, Everyone,

Our hearts go out this morning to Suzanne, Jen, and Tonya. Cobb, Booger, and Tiki are flying free

Rusty has a bounce going from the events of yesterday (reduced shot in a.m.; food disruptions; vetty visit; recovery), but otherwise is fine. He had a good night sleeping between his beans with his head on his little green pillow. He went back to sleep in his little bed by the radiator and just had some of his breakfast (warmed up on the radiator in a bowl of hot water). Now he's lounging in his perch over the radiator.
We have light snow and the weather is milder than in recent days. The beans are about to walk to the post office and stop at the town hall to pay our property taxes (yes, it's THAT time; sure rolls around quickly!). This afternoon--the landfill.
Wishing all a good start to the weekend. Thinking of all kitties and beans who are not feeling well and sending healing vines,
Ella & Rusty

I think Tess is the bouncing queen of LantusLand still, especially that Gabby seems to be on hiatus these days. Good to hear that Rusty is recovering from his difficult yesterday. Enjoy your "mild" weather!

Nice recovery, Rusty. Snoozing in a perch on top of the radiator sounds lovely - Sasha would be happy to join you if you'd like company. She "runs" to the heat vent every time she hears the heater go on and leans over it with her eyes closed - bliss!

So glad to see that yesterday's vet visit went well. But "normal" Rusty. Nope. "Exceptional" Rusty! I mean, look at how well he's trained his beans.

Also encouraging, I think, that the vet wants an US, but didn't see any immediate urgency. Light that mid February gives some easy answers.

Oh, and Ella. My dog read your condo. Now he expects landfill trips too. Rusty's beans go to the landfill? Why don't you. And you could take me. It'd be fun!!!! Thanks!

Ella, I am glad to hear Rusty is all recovered from his rough day---I love the image of him all cuddled on top of that radiator with his little dishes of food!

Looks like the Lagoonmeister is working his way back down there tonight! Have a wonderful evening!

Hi again,
Rusty had a good, relaxing day. He enjoyed his "lung treat" (Allerplex in Stage 1 Beechnut turkey baby food) and ate pretty well. Today's menu was Dave's 95% chicken and chicken liver (from Zener's bequest: the next- to- last can), FF T&G, and, for dinner, Dave's 95% turkey and turkey liver. I've decided to follow the lead of many here (and elsewhere: on the catfood review websites) and stop feeding Wellness. It appears that cans dated Jan. 2017 and later have undisclosed ingredient changes (denied by the manufacturer) and have caused problems for many cats. This is unfortunate, because Rusty likes Wellness and it is high in calories, which he needs, but recently he has been eating the chicken, but pretty much ignoring the turkey.
So one of the things I will do in NYC next week is look carefully at the labels of all the brands in the petfood stores. Rusty is allergic to fish and beef. Here in the country there is not so much variety available as in the city.

Continuing to send much sympathy to Suzanne, Jen, and Tonya. Sending prayers for Laura's Skinky.

I'm glad Rusty had a good day and is coming down.

We also kicked the WN. I just started Gracie on Wild Calling today. They have buffalo, rabbit, beef, chicken, turkey, duck, and then a couple fish flavors which, like you, I don't feed. All the flavors are 3% except the buffalo and it's like 0.2% calories from carbs...so pretty low. Gracie really likes it so far (touch wood).

I hope you can find something in the City. It was really awesome of you to offer to help Laura when you get to NYC next week.
