1/29 Rusty PMPS 100, +4.5 72

Yesterday

Good Morning, Everyone,

We all had a good night and the morning routine went well. Rusty is now sleeping in his little bed by the radiator. I thought he wanted to schmooze, but he decided it was nice and warm where he was.

It's another cold morning here (temp. was -4 when we got up, but is now up to +5). A snowstorm is expected to begin this afternoon, and continue tomorrow. Then it's going to get really cold with highs around zero. January has been a very cold month this year. The ice palace on the shore by the lake is in its finishing stages and it looks good. This has been a good month for ice! The theme of Winter Carnival (which begins Feb. 6th) this year is "Groovy Sixties". Yeah, we did groove in the '60s!

Rusty, your bean keeps telling us about your little bed by the radiator. Now I want one. No, not for the cats. Nor for the dog. For me.

Keep bundled up, stay warm. Watch the snow fall, hope it's those big fluffy dry flakes (and no wind!).

I think this year for the first time in a number of years, the St. Paul Winter Carnival will have an ice palace. Weather wouldn't allow it for a while. Loved going to see it when I was a kid.

Rusty is groovin' in the Greens today. He spent the whole day next to the radiator. He ate about half of his "lung treat". He's getting tired of it again, but he knows I want him to eat it, so he obliges (up to a point).

I did some grocery shopping in advance of the snowstorm, and have started Marcella Hazan's minestrone for dinner. It's my favorite soup and needs to cook for at least 3 hours. mmm.

Me too - but not for a few months yet - over 100 here again today. I can't freeze the ice bottles as quickly as I need to dole them out!
