I hope this is the last day of the little bounce. I guess I shouldn't have taken Rusty's dose down 1/2 drop on Dec. 3rd. Of course he didn't hold it and now we're trying to get back to where we were! Anyway, Rusty had a good night, ate most of his nighttime fuds, slept between his beans on his little green pillow (with a little fleece blanket covering it in this cold weather).
Yes, our weather is finally "seasonable". It is 16 degrees F. this morning with gusty winds. The whole weekend is supposed to be cold, but we don't have the amount of snow that the area west and south of us got. Today the "tree man" is coming to take down the dead spruce tree that got blown over and into a stand of white birch in our front yard. It will be good to get it out of there. It's branches are tangled in the birches.

Wishing everyone a good weekend. TGIF!

Rusty does like to wobble a bit or maybe the best dose is a moving target. ;) I'm back from summery Australia and to wintery Flagstaff. It's a bit of a shock to me. We have lots of layers on the bed too!

LagoonMeister, there are some kitties in need of your assistance! Time to get your toes wet.

A couple inches of fresh snow here today and more coming down. I saw something last week saying this snowfall would be our first serious one in around 1000 days. But the hummingbirds are still coping - very demanding if we are slow getting the feeder thawed.

We're expecting 98 F today, yesterday we got to 96 - no doona on my bed at all!

C'mon Rusty you can do better than that...

Yikes! Here tonight it is going down to about 7 F.

It's amazing that you still have hummingbirds around. Do they stay all winter?

The dead tree is gone. Some dead logs and large branches that were on the ground in the back wooded area are gone, too. I hope the deer won't be too upset.
We went to the Paul Smith's VIC this afternoon to get our winter trail passes (they have a wonderful network of ski and snowshoe trails), then we bought a Xmas tree (but it will stay in the little greenhouse until it is time to bring it inside).

Rusty's numbers are still wonky.

Yes, the Anna's stay around all winter now. That's a relatively new phenomenon in the last 10 years. My parents have blacked chinned hummingbirds, just atarted in the last couple of years, but they chased away their Anna's. I've seen them once here.

Sounds like you might get good snow for skiing this winter. :)
