Hi Everyone,
Just a note this evening to let you know that we got home safely yesterday, in a howling wind storm (but before the freezing rain started). Rusty was a terrific traveler. We had a lovely family Christmas. Rusty had to spend some time by himself in my sister's house while the party was in my nephew's house, but he did just fine, had good appetite, and snuggled with us at night.
Our weather is wild. It poured rain (regular rain, not freezing rain) all night last night and this morning everything that had been snow was a sheet of ice. It's impossible to walk on our driveway without microspikes! The temperature has dropped to below freezing. We're supposed to get snow every day this week. That will be great! We can't wait to get out on our snowshoes/skis.
We are getting ready for our New Year's Eve party, so I had to go shopping today at the supermarket. We'll be having 12 or 14 people for late-afternoon munchies/drinks and a sit-down midnight supper with Champagne. In between many of the guests will go to the "First Night" in town (lots of venues all over town with music, dancing, story telling, etc. ). At midnight there are fireworks over the lake. Anyone who wants to can stay in the house with us in the evening and watch a video of Johann Strauss's "Die Fledermaus"--traditional New Year's Eve entertainment for Edward and me. Last year everyone made a "prediction" of what would happen in 2016: this year we'll see whose predictions happened.
Now, downstairs to hold Rusty's bowl. He's having his post-trip wonkiness today. Tomorrow morning he gets a B-12 shot at the vet's. His energy level is so much higher since he's been doing the shots.
Thank you all for visiting.
