Good April Morning, L&LL,

Yep, it's snowing hard here--big, wet flakes that melt when they hit the ground. This may be the last snow event for a while. On Sunday it's supposed to be 60 degrees, and even warmer on Monday. Rusty will enjoy some outdoor time.

Rusty had poor appetite yesterday, but ate about half of his nighttime fuds. Today he's "working" on eating (when we hold the bowl). I think I'll bring out some of the fuds he tired of months ago and see if he has renewed interest in them.

I haven't started counting drops on the Relions yet. Can't face it! I've only measured unit, half unit, and quarter unit with the calipers. Rusty's dose is a skinny .25U and very difficult to measure, even with the calipers. On the Terumos, which have a skinnier barrel than any of the other brands I have tried and therefore the lines are further apart, it is easier, but still tricky.

Wishing everyone a good Friday and a fine weekend. TGIF!!

Thanks, Carla. I hope that Furball is doing ok and that Baby is, too. (and the other kitties in your gang).

I tried a new food on Rusty at lunch: Canidae Grain-free Pure Chicken Recipe Smooth Pate. He seems to like it. He ate more than he usually does before drifting away from his bowl (Rusty is a "grazer", not a "hoover"). I got 2 3-oz. cans when we were in NY City last month. If he continues to eat it, I may get a case of 12 from Chewy. According to Dr. Lisa's new list it is 4% carbs and 110 calories in a 3-oz. can. Rusty needs those calories. We don't have to be careful with phospherous, but it's phos. is 224, which, I think, isn't too high.

Rain/snow continues. "Mud Season" is upon us.

It's great you found a new food (for now) that he likes. When I first got Neko I used to feed Canidae and I'm sure it's formula has changed now. At that point I found batch to batch inconsistency drove my crazy, cause back in the day she was fussy about texture. With CKD kitties you try to stay under 200 on phosphorus, but 224 isn't bad. Wish I'd thought of trying it again but we were still going by the old list last year.

Mud season sounds missable. We've got rain and a good wind storm headed our way. We have a regatta in Everett, WA on Sunday, missed yesterday's practice and might tomorrow. Looks like I might get to practice with my doubles partner on the 1000 meters up to the start line.

Oh, how I am longing to get back on the water. There is some open water (fast rivers), but most of the lakes are still frozen. Have a great regatta. Is this the first one of the season? Nothing like practicing on the way to the start line!

It's actually our second regatta, but we bailed on the first one. We had the boat trailer (with $$$ worth of shells) parked in front of our house the morning of that regatta in March, but it snowed overnight! And as we found out later, the brakes on the trailer weren't working. So we didn't go to it, even though it was just downtown Vancouver. Sunday is our first short course event of the season. We joke all the time about practicing on the way to the start. At least I raced with the other lady last year, so not complete strangers together.

Nice numbers Rusty but no need to go lower than that +5.5!
Last night we had rain which turned to sleet which turned to snow. This morning I had to scrape an inch of crusty stuff off my car  I hope that's the last of it!
