3/26 Rusty AMPS 349, +5.5 237, +9 257, PMPS 298; Fur Shot!, +4.5 332

Yesterday

Good Evening L&LL,

We increased Rusty's dose this morning from a fat 0.25U (0.25mm on the calipers) to a skinny 0.5U (0.33mm on the calipers, Monoject syringe). Of course it was a perfect time for a fur shot, and that's what Rusty got this evening. So tomorrow morning we start all over again with the increased dose. Bummer! I so wanted his high numbers to start coming down. In any event, Rusty had good appetite today (RAWZ turkey and Holistic Select chicken). His breathing continues to be good. He went outdoors for a few minutes at noon to check out one of his sunny places on the bricks next to the house. The icicles have all dropped from that (south) side of the house, but are still enormous on the north side.

It's been an uneventful day. Edward and I went to the landfill. Tomorrow I'm going on a x-c ski with 3 of the women in our group. It may be the last time to get out in the near future, since rain is supposed to move in tomorrow night and last for the rest of the week. It may indeed be the end of skiing season. Edward and Rusty will hold the fort.

Sorry about the fur shot, but glad to hear Rusty is eating well and breathing good. Enjoy the ski tomorrow.

The fur shot jar is off to a fine start this year. I hope Rusty doesn't go much higher. Brave kitty going outdoors.

Glad that some of those icicles are oozing into melt. The mammoth ones will soon follow. “Timber!!!”

Rusty's breathing is louder tonight. I hope the steroid isn't wearing off so soon. Perhaps he shouldn't have gone outside for 3 minutes.
We are in fur-shot mode, alright! I wouldn't be surprised to see red tomorrow morning. Let's hope not. I'm contemplating, since we have to start over with the dose increase, adding a smidgen to his skinny 0.5U dose. I began measuring it at 0.33mm on the digital calipers, but maybe, given his very high numbers since having the steroid shot, I should measure it at 0.35mm. A full half-unit dose measures 0.40mm on the digital calipers, Monoject syringe. Any thoughts?

That's for sure! We'll have a nice bottle of wine soon! (haven't spent all of last year's fur shot money yet).

I hope the steroid isn't wearing off already and that Rusty's noisy breathing is just a bit of a reaction to being outdoors....does he have allergies?
Have fun skiing! It's rainy here today....bleh! But it will get rid of the last of the snow.
