    Yesterday

Rusty's sinuses are quite congested still, and his breathing raspy. Last night he ate some of his nighttime food and had a poop. It looks like there might be a very little blood on some of it, but it is hardly visible. I think that if he had broken a suture it would be much more. It's been a week since his surgery (removal of a tumor from the rectum). Seems like a year!

Once again he preferred his little bed in my study to his spot in the middle of our bed. I know he doesn't feel very good at the moment. The dark, damp, gloomy weather doesn't help. It's only been 11 days since his steroid shot (Depo Medrol), so we have to wait 10 more days before he can have another. We are getting through one day at a time. In any event, the effect of the steroid on his bg seems to be waning. Nice to see him out of those pink numbers (anti jinx).

Paperwork is calling me, and today is the weekly "senior day" at the Health food market (15% off everything), so I need to stock up.

Wishing all a fine day and sending vines to all kitties and beans in need.

No. It's chronic congestion that he has had ever since he came to live with us in 2010.
The LagoonMeister decided it was time to check out the shark nets. He's finishing his breakfast and starting in on his lunch, so his bgs will start to go up pretty soon.

Sending easy breathing and healing vines the lagoon Meister's way. I missed his surgery, I feel like the worst auntie. I'm sorry I wasn't around to offer support.:(

Mr Lagoon Meister, the shark nets are in tip top condition, get yourself back to safer waters!

Even when under the weather, nothing can keep Rusty from his lagoon duties and inspecting the shark nets! :cat:

I hope his breathing gets better, hang in there for your next shot, Rusty! :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

    Hi again,
Rusty had a better afternoon. He ate almost all of his lunch and snack. He's still working on his dinner (he'll eat it over the course of the evening, watching TV and sitting on my lap). (making it harder for me to do other things, but that's OK). I shaved his dose back to a skinny 0.5U (0.33mm on digital calipers, MJ syringe). The steroid is wearing off. The antibiotic (Convenia) is going into week 2.

Tomorrow I'll be out all day on a hike, but Edward will keep a close eye on Rusty even though he can't test because of his eyesight. If things look bad in the morning, I won't go.

Never did get to the paperwork :). bbl,
