01/21 Ivana BG=108, 101, back down to 67. This week's photo

Last week's post

Hmmm, two blue numbers yesterday o_O Pretty sure the 108 at +10 (4hrs after her lunchtime) was because she barely ate any lunch. Retested 5hrs after her dinnertime expecting a much lower number, and it was still a bit higher than is usual for Ivana (she generally hovers around the 70-80 mark. Planning to test her again today to make sure it was just a blip.

No new photo yet, that will be my task for today :)

In other news, our little bantam chicken Chablis (the one who nearly died last week from heatstroke) has now hurt her leg and is limping quite badly. We've confined her inside in Ivana's carry cage so she can't move much and given her some Metacam for pain relief and inflammation and arnica cream incase it's a strain or sprain, and I dare say she'll be at the vet tomorrow if she doesn't miraculously improve by the morning. Ahhh, it never ends!

eta, missed last weekends thread, just red through it, maybe it's the extra fuds giving a higher BG?? We've sort of seen the opposite effect with the food, George gained some weight so we've reduced his fuds, started in late december, and since then we've seen less blue. Just a thought.

From what we've observed with the Banana Girl, when she doesn't eat she goes higher. Dunno why, you'd think not eating would lower her BG, but then again she never did play by the rules. I do think that yesterday's extremely small lunch meal was the culprit, because today she had a full breakfast and I just tested her 4hrs after and she was 67 - normal for her. Though I might just test again at the same time as yesterday's 108, just to make sure.
