Good morning!
AMPS 149 shooting 1.75u
Well that AMPS is disappointing; was really hoping for something lower :D

Long post warning! But I like to document the results here for future reference because my memory sucks!

So last night I experimented. PMPS was 104 YAY. Fed same PMPS meal. Fed same +3 meal. Then after he finished his +3 I gave him another +3 meal of chicken pate 2% with a tiny bit of ff (which is 10% but it really was only a couple of chunks) +6 was a wee bit smaller than usual and consisted of half chicken pate half chicken pieces. And +9 was a wee bit smaller and consisted of mostly chicken pieces with a bit of low carb ff

As expected, he ate the extra dish of food right away. I was awake when his +6 dish turned and it took him a couple of minutes to decide to get down of his bench to eat it. But he did and then he got into his bed and had his bath. No yelling for mommy! BEAN WIN!

At 5:00 he yelled for me. And yelled. And yelled. Then stopped. He was quiet for a few minutes. Then yelled some more. sigh. I got up, checked his dish, told him it was ALL GONE, and went btb. He yelled a couple more times then came back to bed with me and cuddled.

So my experiment was partially successful. Will try it again in this cycle but DH and I may be away during his +6 so he will be able to finish Allen's food if Allen lets him.

He did eat pretty much all his fuds last night. Allen ate very well as well.

It's supposed to be milder today and sunny so we're planning on a walk later this morning. Meanwhile, I am attaching another photo of the Carolina Wren from last weekend. I believe he was calling for his mate (only the male carolina wrens sing).

Yay for half successful food experiment. If that bit of higher carb food keeps him satisfied for longer, maybe you won’t get the 2:00 alarm? I would keep that part and keep experimenting with the +9. Paws crossed!

If he's going to wake me up each night I'd much rather he wake me at 5:00 rather than 2:00!
I was surprised by the AMPS though considering he had very little carbs after +3. I'm actually wondering whether he's "one of those cats" that do better with slightly higher carbs. That's another experiment if this one doesn't give me the results I want

Judy, I am a “ documentor” too !!! If I write it down , I remember it ....maybe leftover habit from my teaching days :) Happy Friday to you and all yours :bighug:

Whenever there is a food experiment I think you need to do it for a few days to see if it's making any difference. Those AM numbers are just tough to bring down for many because of Dawn Phenomenon and Boom's has struggled in the past to bring the AM numbers down.
Yes exactly. Nothing happens in a hurry here! And Boomer definitely has struggled with AMPS before. I will be continuing with the experiment for a few days.

+3 110
sigh
Daytime cycles start out higher and he doesn't green up until between +5 and +6.
Nighttime cycles start a bit lower and he's green by +3
