He did well for testing and injection today. At first it seemed like he was going to fight me but then he didn't. Good appetite, licked his bowl clean. I think he's feeling better with the lower numbers.
I started the 1.25 units this morning, hoping it goes well. I did smell a little insulin but I know a lot of droplets when I'm adjusting the dose settle at the top of the needle cap so hopefully it was that because it wasn't wet that I noticed.

Also, have a question regarding loose stools with bloody mucus. Not Thomas J. but my other cat Hidee. She almost always gets them after I give her canned fish as a treat, this time was pink salmon. It does come with bones in but I do a good job at removing nearly if not all of them. Do you think it may be some sly little bones that are making it when she eats or is it just her body not used to the food where it's not given often. It always worries me. Does this happen to anyone else when they give canned fish?

Bloody mucus in stool... hmm. maybe some gastroenteritis.
It could be an additive in the fish or maybe her tummy just can't handle it. My guy is allergic to some fish- tuna especially, but just gets sneezy and his eye water...
I'd find something else to treat with maybe or buy higher grade fish from the butcher's counter instead...?

Yay for a good appy. I'm glad testing was better this morning. I'd avoid giving Hidee that food. It sounds like her system can't handle it.

You'll never get the same answer twice asking about seafood quality inspection. Our boys have oddball appetites, Daniel loves yogurt, Lewis loves his smoked salmon but won't touch any other human grade meat. When they do get seafood it's always human grade stuff. I opened a can of FF shrimp and something years ago and it looked like something that fell off a conveyor belt, then got swept up and canned. For a dollar more you can avoid the mysteries of the deep.

Yeah, it happens every time so it's not something new. I haven't given it to her in 2 days so hopefully her stool will go back to normal soon. Just curious if anyone else's cats have a similar reaction.

True. Weird thing is she used to eat it all the time when she was younger and have no problems. I think it's because I don't give it very often anymore the last 5+ years so her digestive system must not be able to handle it very well anymore. This is human canned fish, not pet food by the way.

Daniel has dairy radar. I can open up anything but he knows what the cream cheese lid snap is, I look down and there he is. Probiotic yogurt is okay for cats in moderation, it's Daniel's favorite. Maybe try a bit of that to get her system back on track and obviously ask your vet first. "In moderation" can mean almost anything.

I don't have any plain yogurt unfortunately. Only fruit flavored with a lot of sugar of course, which would probably cause more of an upset stomach I'd say. Not sure if she'd like yogurt, she does like milk and cheese though so maybe. She's a very picky cat.

Grabbed a +3 real quick while he was sleeping on the couch. 254, he seems to be quite carb sensitive.

Still napping but another spot on the couch where I laid folded clothes. Got a +6.5, 247, seems like he's bouncing from the lower 100s he's been having.

Hmm.
My guy wasn't allergic to seafood- or I didn't see signs like this until he was about 9/10 years old. He might get softer stool, but I haven't " noted blood". ...I wasn't allergic to asparagus until I hit my 30s for some reason.
GI sensitiveness can change with age or exposure.
Hope she's back to 100% soon.

Those higher numbers might also be due to the increase ...a little New dose wonkiness maybe...

She eats cat food with fish no problem. It's just the canned fish she has trouble with. The blood isn't all throughout, it's just bloody mucous at the end of the bowel movement. Hopefully it will clear soon.
Yes, that could also be it. Hard to pinpoint especially when I'm still new and don't have much knowledge on everything.

Apparently this is comfortable.

He definitely gets lower at night. 215 at +4 so possibly high 100s later in the cycle? If I don't sleep through my alarm as always I'll get another test tonight.
He did well during all his tests today. Must be feeling better today or maybe just worn out. He slept all day other than when he was eating or using the litterbox. No playing but maybe I can entice him with a string tomorrow.
