After a fabulous day in the greens yesterday, Ivana surprised me with a drop into the blues in last night's PM cycle. Not a quick drop thankfully, but she went through three colours in 6 hrs! This morning she appears firmly entrenched in yellow, which is not bad for a bounce.

We're going well, late nadir in the AM cycle and it's continuing into the PM cycle. Will check on her through the night too, I think.

In other news, one of our chickens, Chardonnay, is very unwell. About a year ago she developed ocular Marek's disease, which caused blindness in one eye. She has been coping fine with that, but in the last few days has been succumbing to the end of the disease with weight loss, tiredness, laying eggs with no shell (although she's now stopped laying altogether), and generally doing things that chickens don't do like fall asleep standing up inside the duck coop because she can't jump up in her own coop. There's no treatment for Marek's, so we're just monitoring her quality of life, including having her inside with us at night. Ivana, who has never been overly fond of the chickens or ducks, has taken it upon herself to look after Chardy. Last night she spend the whole night laying right next to Chardy's hutch, and it looks like tonight is the same. Here they are, kitty and her feathered friend, both asleep. Is this not the cutest thing you've seen all day?!
