Well, now I'm scared. I have an appointment today for a U/A, and I plan to get blood pressure (never been done) and full bloodwork (done in another hospital in November) plus extra tests that weren't done...Phosphorus, Calcium, and electrolytes (Potassium etc) because I want to check her kidneys (I think she still may pee too much for a well-regulated cat). Also, if she's going to the vet, it might as well be worth the stress it will cause her (really stressed at the vet).

Now, I check her urine for ketones at least once weekly, and last one was a week ago today, later in the day; it was somewhat turbid, but yellow. Today's first morning urine catch was really, really bloody with clots.

Scared because she's so nicely regulated I don't think her numbers reflect the inflammation and pain she would be feeling if this were that bad a UTI; yes she's occasionally uncomfortable, but not to the extent I think you'd see with that. So, I asked them to check especially for abnormal cells, and am worried.

Hoping you all had a good night, and wishing you and your kitties a day of safe surfing! With love, Nikki

Willow was trying to tell you something was wrong! I hope it's something minor & she does OK going to the Vet.

Willow did great on her vet visit! Not as stressed as usual (used Feliway wipe in carrier and spray on blanket, may have helped because usually she's worse). Did great for her blood pressure, which was normal (for a vet visit, anyway) and which I was really worried about. Diagnosed UTI, prescribed a 3 week course of Abx. I'll see how she does afterwards to see if we culture or not.
Decided not to pull blood today since it will be sitting until Monday, so booked an apt for that. Vet seems ok with doing whatever tests I want (I don't think she felt they were necessary since original November bloodwork was fine), and with me restraining Willow for blood draw. Also got a bupe refill, but may trade it in for gabapentin, which is her first choice for diabetic neuropathy.
Interested to see how her BG responds to the UTI clearing up.
Much reassured by the normal blood pressure, and not dreading the blood draw so much since I know I can hold and since Willow did much better than expected today. Thanks for all your good wishes :) With love, Nikki

Glad to hear the Feliway worked to calm her down .
Did you contact someone to tell them I found the mistake in the Daylight Savings time hours? I hope they fixed it so someone doesn't follow the wrong time!

Hope Willows' UTI clears up soon.:)

Hi, thanks :) I'm glad you told me it worked for you! Yes, I did mention the mistake and I think it's been fixed, someone had pointed out the other time change had the same mistake and I just piggybacked on their post; I didn't mention your name because I could only remember Ravan, I usually think of people by their pets name, whoops lol. With love, Nikki
