Good morning!

AMPS 223 shooting 2.25u

Around 2:30ish last night I heard a tentative little mew.....mew...."Mommy I hates to wake you but I don't like my food". I got up and changed his food. sigh.

I've made an appt for Boomer to see Dr Larry. It's been a bit over a year since he's had a checkup and b/w and no doubt he needs a dental too. Appt is Monday.

Today is DH's dr appt and we'll hopefully find out that the treatments have been successful! Appt is later this afternoon.

Today's photo was taken about a week ago and is of an American Goldfinch! Love these little birds and I'm happy to say I've had one visit my feeder the last couple of days.

ETA: I've seen a litter called "Pretty Litter" advertised recently and it changes colour if the kitty has a UTI or whatever....I guess there are 4 different things it "tests" for. Has anyone here used it?

Judy, prayers for great results for DH today. I tried the "Pretty Litter" for Shoes and he did not like it and would not use it after trying it a few times. It has no smell so that may have been one reason that he stopped using it. It did turn colors when he did use it so I know that part worked. It's very very expensive to use also, especially for a diabetic kitty that urinates more often than a non-diabetic kitty.

I haven't tried Pretty Litter but have heard a lot about it. Great pic of the goldfinch! I miss seeing the birds - we have a lot of song birds visit our feeders in Michigan. Not so many here - too many apex predators (Eagles, Ospreys and Hawks) The other birds seem to stay clear...

Judy,

I tested Pretty litter for my vet last year. He gave me 4 bags to test for him. One of my cats was going outside of box and it seemed pinkish. So we were trying to narrow down kitty and problem. His one remark was he hopes next generation has a glucose indicator.

Anyway, what I found is that he's it changes color to indicate if urine is acidic, alkaline, or have blood and I think last one might be protein but don't remember the 4th.

It would tell you one of these is happening but you would still need vet visit and probable tests to find out what it is.

It does not clump, so you can't scoop out urine balls. So entire box needs to be emptied out weekly minimum. It's very expensive and definitely not for multiple cats.

Two of mine would not use it. Maybe if you were suspecting a problem but it doesn't give you enough information.

Just got home; had to wait an hour for the Dr of course  But he had very good news for us; DH's PSA is down from 46 (when he was first diagnosed) to 0.32!!! And the Dr also told us that, when the PSA is under 5.0 1 month after treatment ends, studies have shown that the likelihood of the cancer coming back is very very low!
Wonderful news!!!!! So happy for you both!!! Tell DH congrats!!

So happy and relieved to hear your DH's good news! Wonderful!! Celebrate this weekend!

I've not heard of that litter, but it doesn't sound like something that would be very practical.

Great pic of the Goldfinch.

Snow here yesterday, with very cold wind. Today it was in the 40s with sunshine. Yo-yo weather for sure.

Bring it on down, Deputy Boomer.
